ABOUT US
CQD Training Group represents my desire to bring the best possible instruction to Public Safety Agencies in the Atlantic Canada Region, and my team of instructors has been assembled to meet that goal.
Several tragic events involving Public Safety members deeply affected me, prompting the formation of CQD Training Group in 2019 with a simple mission: Share our professional experience with the officers of our region to promote their confidence and abilities when faced with medical emergencies in a high threat environment.
CQD Training Group's greatest asset is our experience - on both sides of the training equation. As instructors, we are a team with professional backgrounds in the organizing and delivery of safe, relevant, and cost effective training at multiple levels. Our cadre brings over 70 years of combined operational and training experience. We understand the demands placed on leadership to deliver quality training while balancing budget, time, and resources — without impacting primary response obligations. Our mobile training model offers the flexibility to meet your agency's goals, backed by subject matter expertise in both planning and delivery. Whether supporting an individual seeking one-on-one refresher training or a team pursuing certification, our mission remains the same.
"In a high threat environment you will instinctively revert to your training, and that training cannot fail you."
K.C. Leavitt
As a Canadian Army Reserve Infantry Officer, Ken brings 41 years of leadership and tactical training experience to his position as the founder of CQD Training Group.
With an additional 32 years service as an Advanced Care Paramedic and Firefighter, Ken has accumulated a variety of emergency service experience in the rural, urban, and industrial settings across Canada and the United States.
Instructor: Pat
With almost a decade of Special Operations Forces service, Pat brings a distinct perspective to CQD Training Group. Rising from the non-commissioned ranks to senior officer, Pat has both applied and instructed tactical emergency casualty care (TECC), tactical awareness, and the small arms skills required in a high-threat environment. In that time, Pat has coordinated tactical training at the individual and team levels, alongside operational deployments with domestic and foreign services.
Instructor: Wayne
As a former Army Master Sniper, Wayne brings expert consulting to CQD Training Group with regard to precision marksman training. His experience and training perspective is an invaluable team asset.
Our mission is simple: give back to the community we call home by paying forward skills learned over decades of service. Our team aims to provide the best quality instruction locally, using our people and our resources.
Come train — see the difference.
